Father, Father. Father! Is deliciously dark. It’s darkly delightful. Its rambunctious and silly yet stabs stealthily at serious issues.

shades of Chekhov’s (twisted) The Three Sisters meets Salvador Dali (in drag) … this ridiculously quirky fantasy, with a menacing twist, underpin a performance piece by three gifted young artists who are creating a zany style and rigorously theatrical language .

NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL SOUTH AFRICA 2015
After successfully running in Johannesburg, Cape Town and the South African National Arts Festival, Father, Father. Father! joins the Amsterdam Fringe Festival. FFF is a devised theatre piece created by Roberto Pombo, Joni Barnard and Rachael Neary, directed by Toni Morkel. The show follows the story of three sisters locked in a basement awaiting their Father’s return and the promise of a big black horse. With a heightened theatrical language and a narrative that is grounded in an Absurdist style, FFF highlights the themes of fear and control through the delicate, ridiculous and brutal relationship of three sisters.
Father, Father, Father, like the cathedral’s bells on Sunday morning, resounds loudly with a deep critique on blind faith and religious indoctrination. It is caustically satirical and a devilish pleasure to watch.
