The Mountain is a drawing performance based on locations and the main street of the city Tehran, a city that lays beneath the mountains and changes through time. It tells the story of a family who lived their whole life in streets, each with a different story but all in the same location. The performer draws the Valiasr street on a paper, not as it is, but how he remembers it.
Tehran has gone through a lot of changes in the past 70 years, every decade has changed the city in a different way. So many people have left, but so many people stayed and faced the changes. Meanwhile, every single citizen has something in common: living beneath the mountains.
The Valiasr street is the longest street in the middle east, changed its name three times and saw a lot of happenings, protests, parties and … throughout the history.
