Volunteer testimonial: Ildiko Mod
Where would we be without our volunteers? Nowhere! Fortunately for us, a lot of helping hands from the entire world find their ways to Amsterdam Fringe Festival. Ildiko Mod from Germany was a volunteer in 2013 and 2014. Good news: she will be joining us again this year!
“I love my annual trip to Amsterdam. I love the Fringe people, the art, the atmosphere, the talks and being part of such a great festival!”
“Once I had to carry a table on my bike to a Fringe venue when I was a runner and some German tourists behind me said to each other: ‘Well these Dutch people really do carry everything on their bikes!’ I didn’t tell them I’m German because I didn’t want to ruin that great image.”
“I love the crazy Fringe performances. Being a venue host is awesome. I like talking to the audience as well as the artists. You get to have a look behind the curtain. You get to see a lot of different venues and it’s a great way to get to know Amsterdam. There’s a good reason people say Fringe is a ‘Rough Guide to Amsterdam’.”
“Besides getting to know the city, you get to see a lot of different performances. I would also enjoy working at the Arts Industry Office, where the jury and programmers have to register.”
Ildi’s favorite food is her mom’s potato salad, but she happily misses this while jumping into the Fringe madness.
