Come see their 60 minute crime-spree. They’ll commit deranged deeds, far too gruesome to mention here. Acts that would make any upright citizen wilt in the stench of their perversion. Your eyes will be offended to call what you see art. They’ll twist the nipples of your every taboo till you cry (for more).

Biography

Meet Bad Bags – a Drag Duo with a Taste for the Dramatic, the transgressive and the hyper-real, Born from the heart of Amsterdam’s nightlife and raised in the House of Hopelezz, Lady Bags and BanShee are a family drag duo behind Bad Bags — a genre-blurring, category collapsing, multi-talented performance partnership.

Together they invite audiences into strange new realities, nostalgic reimagining of the mundane and celebrate contradictory state of being.

Lady Bags carries her background in dance and choreography with her in every bag drag, sharing the joy of dance (with bags) through her city-wide Bag Arobics workshops— where high energy meets high camp. BanShee is a performance artist, composer, writer, and anthropologist, producing a practice of presence rather than production and projections.

This season they focus on exploration of the villain—not as a threat, but as a way to “see” the other. That is, to avoid falling into immediate judgment and instead make room for other possibilities. As Bad Bags, they dive headfirst into the unknown, layering mediums and genres to discover new ways of connecting, reorganising — and subverting — with audiences and public spaces alike.
