Situated within the liminal threshold of spiritual transition, this performance inhibits a space suspended between past and present. Enwrapped in purgatory’s timeless stasis, the work poses metaphysical questions: How does the body articulate its moral value? Who stands as the gatekeeper at the threshold of the afterlife? And to what extent does this arbiter shape the somatic choreographies of souls compelled to perform their way out of eternal yearning?
The artist duo WRAITH conjures a ritualistic tribunal using the stage as a site of moral reckoning, coercing the audience to construct their own verdict. Rather than resolution, the piece reveals the violence of judgment, embracing chaos, fragmentation, and corporeal distress. Movement emerges in dialogue with live analogue and digital instruments, generating an auditory architecture whose sonic presence evokes the haunting reverberations of purgatory. Sound becomes an extension of the body, echoing its tremors, tensions, and unresolved desires.
