info

How does the physical body carry traces of cultural expectation, and how can those traces be made visible or disrupted?

Can you imagine a world where you don’t have to belong?

Can you stop calling me Kawaii?

We wrap our stories in a dumpling skin, but can we leave the wrap open?

How can a collective performance be a collective autobiography

delay no more 0.1 is a collective exploration of unisono; a series of actions and movements in synchronisation. By reimagining togetherness and identicalness, the four performers move between their difference and authenticity.

Here a recipe for delay no more 0.1 (for 4 people):

320g – unisono

160g – reflection

80g – action

100ml – reading

40 skins – movements

4 teaspoons – identity crisis

2 teaspoons – radicalness

a pinch of belonging

a page of manifesto

some water and tears

a lot of “delays” 屌你

a lot of love

Biography

delay no more is a collective of four artists/dancers, Isabel Dao (norway/vietnam), Jessi Zhang (italy/china), Kiu-Yan Amy Cheng (hong kong), and Mashiro Tamura (japan) based between the Netherlands and Belgium.

All coming from distinct cultures and contexts, they came together to seek a sense of belonging and community amongst each other. Through practicing dance, soundscaping, collective writing and cooking, their research aims to create a shared space for hosting questions around fluid identities. The four share a strong desire of resisting the “asian woman” categorizations and its byproducts such as stereotypes, orientalism, fetishism and infantilisation.

This collective is at the starting point of gathering, researching and experimenting together.
