What happens when our bodies touch? If we remove the layers of power and sexuality, what is still left to be discovered?

Touch is an innate practice; however, as men, we are educated on which kind of touch is acceptable, and which is not; which emotions have the right to be expressed, and which must be repressed.

In ‘Nounoué’ two men use circus to establish a physical relation among them, we explore this bond and the possibility that it offers.

Aerial rope, acrobatics and partnering are our tools to shape a tender game of balance, weight shifts, climbing and moving with the other.

Recorded voices of people met in the street shape our duet; in different languages these strangers share their stories of intimacy and vulnerability. This soundtrack is the foundation of the performance.

We create a physical language, a tender form of communication that requires listening and care, that gives a voice back to what was innate.

Biography

I am Camin, born in Pau, France, in 2000 and raised within Occitan culture. In 2021, I graduated in Performing Arts (Dance & Circus) and Communication from the University of Jean Jaurès in Toulouse. I then pursued intensive professional circus training at Cirk’Eole in Metz (2020–2022) and CADC Balthazar in Montpellier (2022–2023). In 2023, I continued my journey at Fontys Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Specialized in aerial rope, I use the air as a space to explore the complexity of human beings, approaching the body as something sensitive and porous, like a sponge, constantly absorbing and transforming what surrounds it.

I am Greg, born in Florence, Italy, in 1998. I am an Art du Déplacement–Parkour athlete and artist currently studying Circus and Performance Art at Fontys Circus and Performance Art in the Netherlands. I began my journey with Art du Déplacement–Parkour in 2014. In 2021, I moved to Milan to train with the founder of the discipline, Laurent Piemontesi. For four years, I taught Parkour with ADD Academy Milano. During my time in Milan, I discovered the world of circus through Quattrox4, where I began training in acrobatics and developed an interest in embodied artistic research.
