INVISIBLE

Invisibility was the superpower I wished for, until being seen became the real Magic

Zippo Guo

Location: De Richel, Zolder

Dates:

duration of the performance: 30 min

When I was a child, someone asked me, “What superpower would you choose?”

Without thinking, I said, “Invisibility.”

Maybe even then, I was already trying to disappear— to hide, to observe, to understand the world from a place no one could see.

INVISIBLE is a Solo Performance blending physical theatre, movement, and magic to explore the childhood wish to vanish—and the adult courage to be seen. Drawing from memory and poetic imagery, Zippo Guo reflects on invisibility not as escape, but as a way to observe, feel, and transform.

This intimate portrait of a boy becoming a man moves through wonder, regret, and quiet revelation. It invites the audience into a space between presence and absence, between hiding and offering. INVISIBLE is a tender gesture of being witnessed—for the first time.

Biography

Zippo Guo is a Chinese theatre performer, movement artist, and illusionist, specialising in blending magic, physical theatre, and movement into poetic and visually striking stage works. Originally trained as an engineer at TU Delft, he made a radical shift in 2021 to pursue his passion for theatre, entering the Mime School at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.

His work explores themes of visibility, identity, and transformation, often through a minimalist yet emotionally rich aesthetic. Zippo’s performances are marked by a deep sense of presence and a playful use of illusion, where objects, bodies, and space shift in meaning and form.

As a magician, Zippo has won multiple international awards and was selected to represent the Netherlands at the FISM World Championship of Magic—the Olympic Games for magicians. Across disciplines and continents, Zippo continues to carve a unique artistic path—bridging East and West, art and science, presence and disappearance. With every piece, he invites audiences into a world where what’s invisible might be the most real thing of all.
