Mingus

In MUGEN, Mingus translates his love for electronic music into a performance. Music as something you can escape into, but at the same time, something you cannot escape from. Finding peace in a chaotic setting. Euphoria, ecstasy, energy, escapism, and loneliness. Discovering disconnection in a search for connection. Confrontations with a loved one’s addiction. What he despises, but also seeks out in music himself. Is this happiness, or is it an escape from reality?

Biography

Mingus

Mingus Kramer graduated from the Utrecht Theater School in 2023. He acts, writes, directs, produces, and raps. Currently, his primary focus is on acting and making music with his rap group Goed Nieuws. This versatile Amsterdammer derives energy from creating art with artists across various disciplines.

Connection, growth, and enjoyment are central to his artistic process. What emerges from this is left to the dynamics of the work. He aims to recognize opportunities and act on them; if he doesn’t see any, he creates them. Humorous, energetic, quirky, raw, pure, and always ready to challenge the status quo.
