"Welcome to the Glitch: you have been invited to become an initiate of our Glitch-tribe. This is your chance to escape the dogma that is the system. Come and experience the RISKS and PLEASURES of true freedom.” Immerse yourself in The Glitch and witness an unexpected plot emerge as you move through each rite.

The Glitch is held as a rite of passage which unfolds in a liminal world. Be prepared to get lost in a world where rites, mythological storytelling, collective sound and dance co-exist in the form of a tribe. Phase after phase, beat after beat, this play draws participants in to a profound collective experience which is created in response to a time when human contact and connection is paramount. The Glitch draws on prolific and fictional rituals and symbols and uses them to play with the interstices and margins of (post) modern culture. In exploring the nature of ritualised behaviour, communal actions and their relationship to today’s world, The Glitch shines a light on the paradox of freedom and lifes insoluble questions.

About the artist

EYEROD is a live art collective curated by theater makers Davide Amato and Polly Wilson. Their current work consists of testing the boundaries between compelling theater and rituals. They want to create disruptive and meaningful experiences that shed a burning light on the cruel reality of what it means to be human through ingenious fantasies and fiction. For these reasons, the collective EYEROD, inspired by the concept of the eye, is called an opening that makes it possible to see but also to be seen, and rod: the English name for the light-sensitive cells in the eye, which allows someone to give to receive light and see in the dark.

To participate in the Fringe Festival, EYEROD collaborates with DJs Raphael Schuler and Chris Baas and stylist Lauren Raaijmakers.
