In pursuit of living the European Dream, M, a young Turkish woman arrives in Amsterdam. Knowing that the EU never accepted her country, she is going to make sure that it’ll be different for her. Soon she finds herself in a performance group along with a fake Canadian, a WOKE Belgian, and a hopeful Syrian. As they all search for a story to perform, they get a chance to be someone in this new city and make peace with their past. Or not.
Basak Layic (writer & actress) Having finished her studies on ‘Media and Visual Arts’ in Istanbul, Basak wrote the feature movie ‘Forgive me Fellini’, and later she worked as a scriptwriter for the American web series ‘Frankensitter’ for Amazon Prime . Moving to Amsterdam in 2017, she started performing as a storyteller at Mezrab. In 2019, she joined ‘What We Do’ as a performer for the critically acclaimed play ‘ How I Got Talent for Life.’ In February 2020, she joined DEGASTEN Boost where she with Mara van Nes. The two developed the project ‘Chain To Be-Long.’ Basak will be performing at Dox Clubs for the season 2020-2021.
