WINNERS 2024!

Amsterdam Fringe Festival ends with a BANG, awarding 4 makers/collectives!

HERE THEY ARE!

The Amsterdam Fringe Festival 2024 WINNERS!

After 11 days of cultural spectacle, throughout the entire city of Amsterdam, 57 makers/collectives showcased their work during more than 250 performances! Each and every one of them deserve the upmost praise and love. The jury of our festival chose 4 of them to put a special spotlight on.

These are our winners:

INTERNATIONAL BURSARY AWARD

The International Bursary winner will receive €3000 to pay for playing the show at Fringe Festivals abroad and will also receive support from the Fringe team.

We play so hard it hurts – Fernando Troya – A Pelo Productions

We Play So Hard It Hurts is a deeply personal and autobiographical performance. Although Fernando Troya’s exploration of identity, sexuality, and vulnerability is personal, it is never self-indulgent.

FRINGE AT BEST AWARDS

After the festival, the Fringe at Best winners are actively introduced by the Fringe team to programmers of festivals, theatres and other potential venues. In doing so, the winners can lean on the team’s large network. They will also receive production support.

dat wat ontembaar is – Melisa Diktaş

Dat wat ontembaar is is a compelling performance that really sticks with you. The jury is impressed by the way Melisa Diktaş uses traditional Kurdish dance and intense percussion, and makes it into her own dance language.

NOORDERLICHT – Jonathan Bonny & Theater Babel Rotterdam

Jonathan Bonny and Theater Babel created a strong and extremely relevant performance with Noorderlicht. The jury loves how this performance feels confrontational in the most friendly way. The performers really take the audience on a journey to make them aware of their own prejudice and invites them to think outside the box.

Love Is Abundant – Pensive Vivifier

With Love is abundant, Pensive Vivifier delivers a groundbreaking performance that blends digital culture with personal vulnerability, offering a fresh and creative take on doomscrolling and internet culture.
